Religious education teacher training
Religious education is a fundamental subject in the education of pupils in England. It helps build young people’s understanding and appreciation of different beliefs, practices and religions, and how these relate to the modern world.
"Understanding different beliefs and cultures is an important life skill. As an RE teacher, I am able to open hearts and minds and help make children better global citizens."
You could be entitled to a tax-free bursary of £9,000 to train to teach religious education. Find out more information about funding here.
Brush up on your subject knowledge
You may be eligible for a subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) programme before you start your teacher training year. The programmes are available to enhance or refresh subject knowledge. Find out more information here.
