How to apply for teacher training
Applications open in October for our primary and secondary teacher training course places, which start each September. Applications are submitted through the UCAS teacher training portal UCAS or the DfE teacher training portal Apply.
We want ambitious graduates who are passionate and enthusiastic about their subject and have the desire to share this with young people of all abilities.

Support for BME applications
Shotton Hall SCITT is committed to ensuring that applicants are supported in fair access to our recruitment and selection process. We have secured the expertise of Sheba Joseph, a specialist adviser to ensure that candidates from black or minority ethnic backgrounds have equal access in applying to initial teacher training.
Sheba leads MERIT, a dedicated service which aims to raise awareness of the opportunities available to black or minority ethnic candidates wishing to train as a teacher locally and to provide support mechanisms to guide them through the application and interview process.
